Villa Del Mar Reviews

Already preparing the next vacation!
My hubby and I traveled to t & C for his birthday for 3 nights. We can not say enough about our stay in t & C. This was our very first time to the Island and we're longing to come back already. Bungalow del Mar was a large part of that. We really enjoyed the small, comfortable, personal feel of the place. It was like being home away from home. I did't mind that it wasn't near the ocean since the oceanfront is within a short a short walk. We could walk too many spots and the further spots you could take a cab. We stayed in a Studio, so no full kitchenette however other suites do include full kitchenette. Our accomodations were on the 3rd floor with a scenery of the swimming pool. The personnel at the resort were really courteous and professional. Melissa was our favourite. There is a full gym about 10-12 minutes a short walk from the resort that bungalow del Mar visitors May use free. I also did a yoga session (for a charge) at Studio 90 (7 min walk) which was fantastic. Tour: Caicos Dreams trip (Half-day scuba diving and conch trip) was excellent. Cuisine: liked - Seaside cafe, Da conch shack and Bay bistro. Loved a lot - mr. Grouper; loved - fresh catch and Caravel. You gotta book Coco bistro at least one month beforehand so we will have to check this one out in the future. As a whole, we liked our stay so much we're preparing our future vacation!

Pleasant little resort
Really pleasant little resort close too many restaurants. The personnel was excellent and supportive. Suites were large and was excellent to have washer and dryer. Shore Access was close. We love to walk and this afforded us the option to walk most evenings to other hotels restaurants.

"shop" resort
My hubby and I traveled to tci for the first time on our honeymoon. When we Travel we favour a "shop" resort environment as we find it to be a much more sociable experience. Vdm didn't let down. The resort has an overall of less than 50 suites and even though it was at full capacity, it never appeared busy. We stayed in a Studio king room which fit our needs perfectly. The suite was spotless, roomy and pleasant. The kitchenette was pristine for brunch and the washer/dryer in the suite made things convenient as well. We discovered the personnel at vdm to always be smiling and inclined to help if needed. The walk to the shore was truly 2 minutes away. When you stay at a big hotel, it can take just as Long to walk from your suite if you aren't oceanfront. Even though we did rent a vehicle since we like to explore, it isn't required as there are a lot of restaurants close by. Free wi-fi and a lot of shore/pool towels available. Lastly, remember to stop and stay hi to steve the barman who makes some excellent beverages! As a whole, we were pleased with our variety of resort and would suggest in a heartbeat. Vdm will be our place of selection when coming back to tci

An amazing hotel to stay
I visited bungalow del Mar with my wifey and son (7) for 7 days in March. The Property was well upkept and was excellent to stay in. The swimming pool, while not a pristine showcase, was always spotless, peaceful and was an often hang out of my son. It had a really shallow end for the non swimmers and a deeper end as well. My family spent all of the time in the big pool as the smaller pool appeared to be for the adults. This was not posted anywhere, however it appeared to be how it got. The central swimming pool was pretty peaceful though. The landscaping was well taken care of as well. The only unfavourable outdoors was there there was constantly no towels in the towel bin. They filled it up one or two times a day and there was a mad rush to get them, however no towels after that. The bar in the swimming pool area served a Continental brunch everyday (breads, juices, coffee) for free. The inside of the suite was really pleasant. Luxury class? No. Simple on the eyes, spotless and pleasant? Heck yes. Our suite looked over the swimming pool (as almost all suites do). You can not see the sea from our suite, but the scenery of the Palm trees on the Property and the main swimming pool was lots unwinding for us. The only unfavourable about the suite was that the air conditioning unit did not appear to keep things at a regular temp. There were big swings in the temp throughout the night, however we got around it by choosing a lower temp and getting Under the covers. There was a lot of heat outdoors throughout the day. Bungalow del Mar has its own area of shore on Grace Bay. It is truly across a peaceful road and a quick walk through the Grace Bay Club hotel to the shore. The oceanfront is public, however vdm has a shore assistant there for a small area. He given towels, sandcastle toys, umbrellas and lounges for us. Additionally there is a hut for use. Some people inquired him to get beverages for them from the bar, however we didn't. The greatest part of bungalow del Mar was the reception personnel. Jo, ruthie and linc went out of their way to assist us when I did not have cash to pay the taxi driver, got us bookings nighly, and suggested things for us to do. They were always happy to help, or to just chat. They really made our stay the greatest and I'm sure it surpassed the staff attention I'd have got on the other side of the street. They truly were what made our holiday excellent. I like lavish hotels and I saw some fantastic ones in the Turks and Caicos. But, I'd still pick bungalow del Mar based on my experiences with them. Vdm is a great site to stay.

We'll surely return to the vdm!
Who needs a sea view for the value the vdm provides! I traveled with my wifey &2 adolescents and we all had an amazing week. We had a 2 br room and everything was in excellent state. Being able to cook brunch and dinner in a full kitchenette was excellent, and, having a washer/dryer made life so much easier (we packed 1/2 of what we often would). The suite was large and we were hardly ever on top of one another. Everybody we dealt with at the reception was marvelous - particularly linco who assisted us book a selection of various activities (my wifey & girl liked provo ponies for exclusive horseback riding). The walk to the oceanfront is fast & simple (about 90 seconds), as was the walk to supermarket and the restaurants in the town. The fellows at the shore, lerone & kerone, were amazing - they always had 4 seats &2 umbrellas for us no matter what time we went down to the shore (no craziness of having to get up early to reserve a seat with a towel) and were very courteous and supportive. The main swimming pool was peaceful - no music playing. Which was a pleasant change from other spots. Thanks again to everybody at the vdm - we'll surely return!

Marvelous, budget conscious Grace Bay resort
We were looking for a budget conscious resort to take a family holiday throughout busy months and agreed to give the bungalow del Mar a try, based on the vacationbay suggestions. We were genuinely amazed at how marvelous our experience was. We reserved a 2 bedroom room, which was well-equipped and pleasant for our family of 4 (we could have used another washroom, however we managed with just 1). Lynco at the reception was very accomodating and lovely to deal with. The shore concierges kerone and lerone were top tier. I could not have dreamed for better service. I contemplate a come back visit. And do not be deterred by the fact that the resort is not directly near the ocean. It takes less than 2 minutes to walk to the shore from the resort. And when you are there they take excellent care of you.

Charming little surprise!
This is our fifth vacation to t&c and we have stayed at Windsong two times and Blue paradise last year. While we love staying near the ocean, we chose to take a risk, provided the excellent testimonials and great prices, and stay at bungalow del Mar this year. What a lovely surprise. The fact that this Condo/resort is off the shore really does not matter as it is a fast 2 minute walk across the road which is minimally traveled majority of the day. Walking through Grace Bay Club is charming and shore for vdm is simple Access and towels and water are given by an assistant who is there all day. In terms of the resort, the property is beautiful and well-upkept and the 2 pools and large hot tub are really pleasant. We'd stay in the swimming pool and go to shore in afternoon which was the pristine combo for us. The area was always really peaceful, not over-busy and some days we had the swimming pool to ourselves! Other than a really unruly, really intoxicated group of Americans from the south who fortunately left after two days, it was most fun! There is a small however full bar and steve is marvelous! The suites, while a little bit worn determined by your unit, are okay and have everything you need and all face the swimming pool area. We were on the 3rd level and the patio (which we could not afford near the ocean) was marvelous for hanging out, eating, reading, and so on. We had the Studio size with our package and it was larger than anticipated with king-sized Bed (which was really pleasant! ), a kitchenette, which was excellent as we could walk 10-15 minutes. To the supermarket and pick up cuisine for lunches, and a gigantic washroom (by ny standards! ). Brunch was included even though robust on carbs, there was tropical fruit and tasty coffee (wolfgang puck). Our holiday priorities are a pleasant Bed. Check; great sheets. Check; a shower with great pressure of the water. Check; and accessibility to shore. Check; great air conditioning. Check; and great service. Check. Shoutout to ruthie, linco and the rest of the courteous and supportive personnel! All-in-all, we were really pleased with everything and would come back (particularly since they told us coming back visitors get a 15% rebate! ). So, save your money for excellent suppers, tours, and so on. Instead of facilities which you really do not need and enjoy vdm!

The greatest value in Turks & Caicos - kid approved!
My hubby and I agreed on Turks & Caicos for our babymoon part Ii. We are anticipating our 2nd and included our 1. 5 year old kid and mom on the vacation. The 2 bedroom room was pristine for us and a lot of space. The card was the kitchenette and the laundry in unit. I did not have to be worried with not having enough spotless clothing. Plus, my kid was up at 5 -6 AM so the kitchenette was card for us to prepare brunch for him. As the previous critics have pointed out, the oceanfront is on the other side of the street by the Grace Bay Club. We hardly ever had any problems in getting a 2 umbrella/4 lawn seat space near the ocean. The infant pool isn't a 0 entry, however shallow and warm enough for little ones. The Continental brunch is alright. Standard coffee/juice/tea/ breads and cereals. You are a short walk to Caicos bakery and graceway gourmet for extra supplies. The exercise suite is not onsite, however with the shore being so close, you can do your workout outdoors. It did not get the full 5 stars due to the washroom and hot water. There was a jacuzzi and shower, which was excellent since I could use the jacuzzi for the little one. The issue was that there was never enough hot water to fill the jacuzzi Half way and for somebody to shower instantly after I got a bath for the little one. This hotel is significantly cheaper than the others in the same area. You do not get the sea window view, however who cares. It was pristine for the family and I look forward to return.

Excellent stay. A short walk to so much!
Alright, so lets give you a tiny background on us. We were traveling for our annually "alone" vacation (no kiddies- weeeee! ). This was our very first vacation to tci, and also out first stay at a non all-inclusive. At the recommendation of a couple that travels to tci from ny regularly we agreed this shop resort was pristine for us. To attempt to go the more economical way as our friends have before we wished to be able to make ourselves brunch and dinner, then eat out for supper. We reserved the smaller suite with the kitchenette (minibar, no ice, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and safe with a card). We were provided suite a 302. We had to bring the bags to the suite ourselves. Why? I have no idea! Nobody offered to help. Is that standard at a smaller place like this when there are clearly carts by the reception to take some visitors baggage for them. Us. We did it ourselves. The suite was spotless, up to date and just wonderful. Pristine for us. The Bed but, wasn't. *** this is where my review gets wordy! *** my poor hubby has 3 herniated discs, and this Bed was just too soft. Even for my liking, and I can rest anywhere and be pleasant. My back was killing my after a first night. It was one of those matresses where it is so worn in that you automatically sink to the centre of Bed. We pointed out it to the reception and they tried to assist us. They put an egg crate on the Bed, which truly is presumed to make the Bed softer often. They tried, however it did not help, when we went to the desk to inquire what can be done, the guy appeared a tiny dismissive. He said "I'm not sure, that is the chambermaid supervisors problem". I don't really believe he was intentionally being filthy, I just think it was his way. My hubby asked for to talk to the supervisor who was so sweet. She wound up changing our suite for us to b 301, and we were genuinely amazed that it was the suite with the full kitchenette. We should have reserved this suite before. It was beautiful the mattress was great pleasant. The suite could honestly fit 6 folks with the 2 pull out sofas. Anyway, spend the money and book the full kitchenette. It really came in useful with making brunch and dinner (and drinks). There was an electronic safe in the walk-in bedroom wardrobe, full fridge with icemaker inside, toaster, oven/stove, microwave, dishwasher even a crockpot! The setting was excellent. We walked to the supermarket (7-10 minutes away), Bay bistro (35 minutes on shore), Caicos café (5-7 minutes), large als and christian buoys (7-10 minutes). I can not really see renting a vehicle when everything is just so close. The climate is wonderful, why not get out to see your atmosphere. The swimming pools and landscaping were properly maintained. We're more so shore folks, so we did not stay around the swimming pool. The shore was the without questions the most pleasant we have ever been to anywhere! The water- clear and a rejuvenating temp, the sand was like silk. It was excellence. We do like to work out, even on holiday. This is my one criticism about vdm. We had to walk 10 minutes to get to the gym. They advertise it as being on the Property. So that was somewhat deceiving, however again, we did not mind the walk. It is a marvelous Property, with supportive, truthful diligent folks. Spotless, close to everything. And great economical. The reception girls are so courteous! Shout out to ruthie! We will look for your videos haha!

Excellent little Gem - please do not tell anybody!
I am in a quandry: if I spill the beans about what an excellent find the bungalow del Mar is, it May be full next year when we want to come back, or the prices May have inflated. But, if I do not share how excellent our experience was, I will be doing the diligent personnel there a disservice! Our 3rd floor junior room was pristine: spotless, light, airy, with a really comfortable king-sized Bed, glass-topped dining table, sofa, simple seat and flatscreen television. Importantly, the small kitchenette was flawless and equipped with the necessities for preparing light meals/refreshments. The washroom was light and spacious, floors and shower tiled in big travertine, with a charming jacuzzi I did not take advantage of. We had a gigantic patio, with round glass-topped dining table &4 comfortable seats, and also a full length lounger. The view was of the swimming pool area and Gardens - charming! Continental brunch every morning was excellent: fresh, fresh, fresh French pastries, bagels, bread to toast; wide selection of cereals;1-2 kinds of fruit;2 kinds of juice; coffee (hot milk available - a personal favorite) or tea; the typical condiments. Definitely more than sufficient to get you going in the morning! The swimming pool area is quite pleasant, with sturdy recliners each with a comfortable mattress placed occasionally around both the adults' and family pools. Spotless shore towels are given, so you do not have to sweat about bringing one from the suite. The grounds is nicely done and the variety of odd Palm trees creates a dramatic touch. There are also a jacuzzi/hot tub and tiki bar, plus two barbecues for doing your own grilling. Personally, I came for the infamous Grace Bay, which vdm has its own stretch of loungers, recliners and umbrellas on, practically on the other side of the street. Truly walk through the vdm lobby foyer, out the front door and a little bit to the right, cross the road, and go through the white gate in the hedge on the opposite side of the road (which happens to be around the Grace Bay Club). You will see the impossibly aquamarine water directly ahead, down the path through the resort landscaping. When you reach the sand, turn left. The vdm's seats and umbrellas are approximately 100 m ahead. Kerone will welcome you with a warm smile and ask where you would like to Park for the day - he'll take care of you well! Now all you gotta do is skin cream up, stretch out and view those waves roll in! Steve at the tiki bar, melissa and lynco at the reception, and mary from chambermaid were our constants, our everyday contacts. Each was ready with a smile and with a happy greeting - at any time. No request too small or big. These marvelous folks definitely know how to make their visitors feel welcome. Will I come back? Actually!
