Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta Reviews

Unwinding in heaven
Having stayed at a few all-inclusive hotels when our kids were junior and being often Hyatt visitors, I was not sure what to anticipate with an all-inclusive Hyatt. It was marvelous! My hubby and I were traveling W/o our children, who are Now adults, and we just liked the peaceful deluxe Hyatt-like atmosphere and were amazed by the quality of the restaurants. We enjoyed blaze restaurant and had a few breakfasts, lunches and suppers there. The other restaurants were great, even though we did not often the cafeteria quite often. We enjoyed playing pool in the bar. Our suite in the Club Tower was roomy with high ceilings and the most wonderful sea view with a big patio. The only sounds were from the waves. The only change I'd recommend is a hammock and/or recliners and tables on the terrace. The interwebs was great in our suite and there was a lot of suite to set up computers and there was a pleasant l-shaped sofa. We thought we May play tennis or go on tours however we spent majority of the time near the ocean reading our books and loving the beverages brought by really courteous servers. The gym was pleasant, with excellent scenes but the Spa wasn't quite ready. It looked like it will be pleasant. In room meal service was excellent (esp. When we were packing - we maximized our time near the ocean) and the housekeeping staff was awesome as was the porter. It was really safe and a marvelous, unwinding holiday! We took cabs to and from the airport. Just a note, do not stop to speak to anybody on your way out of the airport. The timeshare merchants are really aggressive. It is simple to get a cab, when you get to the curb.

Marvelous time in Puerto Vallarta
My hubby and I stayed here for 6 days in the centre of April. We arrived and within seconds personnel was taking our drink order and loading our luggage while we got registered. We showed up at 2 PM, and our accomodations were not available until 3:00, so we walked around and had lunch while we waited. One time it was time, check-in was fast and straightforward. We stayed in the non-Club Tower suites which were newly redecorated. (they're the less costly choice since they're smaller in size and do not come with the 24-hour lounge. ) the suite was pristine for us. The mattress was surprisingly comfortable with marvelous sheets and every suite has floor-to-roof sliding glass doors. We slept nighly with the doors open so we could rest to the sound of the waves. The staff attention in the suite was excellent. We always had fresh towels and a re-filled refrigerator. The meals were remarkable in this hotel. I anticipated the cafeteria to be just alright (as it appears cafeterias at all-inclusives can be) however it was excellent. We ate brunch there most mornings as it was difficult to beat the made-to-order egg omelets and excellent variety of brunch meals. We also ate one brunch at blaze, which was also tasty. We ate here for brunch and supper every now and then too, and it didn't disappoint. Our two favourites were blaze (the steak house) and puerza (oriental). The cuisine at both was just awesome. Everything we ordered was tasty and served quickly. We had a bite at the mediterranean restaurant as well and the meals were great, however was not our favourite when in comparison to the other two. But, eating inside at night at the pizza and pasta place was pleasant with the candles and the sound - it was a more pleasant atmosphere than sitting outdoors was. We never did make it to the mexican restaurant, however most folks we spoke to said it was "just alright. " in room meal service was simple and prompt. We had our cuisine in Under 30 minutes and it was warm and delicious. The personnel in this hotel was honestly the high point. We often were hit up for beverages before we even needed to order another. A few different times we were in locations that were off the beaten path (at the remote pool/jacuzzi close to the non-Club Tower) and the hospitality was still excellent! We did not barely ever want for a drink no matter where we were. They were all professional and courteous. We used the gym nearly daily of our holiday and there were a lot of machines available and many extra facilities (exercise balls, free weights, mini trampoline, and so on). The personnel member working there was eager to help if you needed anything. It was a large bonus to work out while staring out at an awesome view. The hotel itself didn't appear too busy. When I inquired I was informed they were at 40% capacity. In a way that made it appear a tiny "dead" sometimes, however that was okay with us as we were not looking for a wild busy college week kind environment. We never had an issue finding a seat or lounger. As far as activities go, the personnel (isaac, gualberto) tried difficult to get folks involved. Sometimes I was somewhat irritated when it would say an activity was arranged, however when I got to take part, nobody was there or it got cancelled without another word. Not a gigantic deal though. Hopefully as the hotel starts to fill to a higher capacity, more folks will take part and the activities will be even a lot more fun. We had fun at the karaoke night on Friday. Gualberto was also excellent when he took us to the town centre one night to a Club. Nighly at 10:30 whoever wants to go to the town centre to a Club of the staff's choosing can meet up and get a group rate. The cover is paid and all beverages are included in the price ($35) along with the taxi lift. We went with a company of 8 folks and gualberto was excellent. He wanted to ensure we all had a wonderful time however were safe as well. At one Point I stepped outdoors to get some Air, and gualberto was there checking on me within 30 seconds. He certainly took his job seriously. It was an awesome way to experience some of the party scene of Puerto Vallarta and feel safe while doing it. We did not do any tours or trips. We were told that the whale sighting season was essentially over so we should not waste money on that kind of trip. We wanted to spend our time near the ocean and at the hotel, and we were happy to stay put and enjoy the shore and our all-inclusive beverages and cuisine. One morning we did venture to the town centre to the stores and merchants. We had the reception Call our taxi and it could not have been easier. My hubby and I both had an amazing time in this hotel. We were happy with our choice to come here. We completely loved our time!

Enjoyed every second of our time here.
My hubby and I joined our adult son and his family (including 2 kids) for about seven days in early April. All of us, adults and children alike, had a very impressive time. The resort personnel were really courteous and helpful, particularly those connected with the cafeteria. Miguel and Angel aimed to meet our every need, particularly for meals that met dietary limitations. They made a birthday brunch very memorable as well. The other restaurants (oriental, mediterranean, mexican, and barbecue) had differed menus and delicious cuisine. Cocktail wise, we had most of our tastes accommodated. The beer and wine variety could be a little bit wider. We never experienced any digestive issues as a result of water or cuisine while in pv, however we ate practically every meal at Hyatt Ziva. Our suites were spotless, appealing, and pleasant. We stayed in the newer Tower, while our children stayed in the Club Tower penthouse floor lodging. The shore was marvelously exclusive and serene. The swimming pools were differed in size and temp. Activities and amusement throughout the day and also the evening were fun, with one booking. The mime's antics were a little bit creepy for the kids. Sea kayaks and paddle boarding was fund for the adults in our company, and also the older kid (age 7). Had we wanted or needed to make use of the free kid care centre services, I think the kids in our company would have had a wonderful time. The amenities were well supplied with fun activities and watchful personnel. The landscaping of the resort were wonderful and safe. We felt really safe. Some testimonials we have read protested about the renovation. We found such work to be minor and not an aggravating bother at all. In fact, we realise that maintenance and landscaping-keeping is required. When we wanted to Travel to community, personnel were willing to assist us safe an inexpensive cab lift. We were also able to make arrangements for a dolphin and a Las coletas shore hideway adventure with Island adventures. These experiences were a blast, particularly since the climate was cooperative. An all-inclusive package was the way to go! We did keep some pesos on hand, though, to leave gratuities for service providers that were extra accommodating, courteous, and nice. Otherwise, it was pleasant to not have to sweat about bills and means of payment. We would return to Hyatt Ziva again!

Overall all great
It was as a whole a really charming resort with a pleasant, laid-back environment. I can only compare this to another 5-star all-inclusive resort I have been to, which is what I have in mind when rating this. I loved the hyatt's towel system and the selection, flexibility, and availability of dining choices. All areas of the resort were wonderful and totally neat all the time, and the swimming pools were at a really pleasant temp. I felt there could be more servers covering the shore area, however those who were there were really courteous and tried not to keep you waiting Long between beverages. There were a lot of great spots by the ocean and the swimming pools, though I feel it May get quite busy throughout the summer. The meals were really, very impressive, though not teriffic. We were thankful at check-out as they were quite pleasant about letting us hang around until our plane trip that evening, including two vacations to fetch stuff from the baggage suite. But we had an issue with the room temp on our first night. To keep it easy, we had set the air conditioning to “heat” to attempt to warm up the suite (it was 16 C upon arrival), when what we needed to do was set it to “cool” and then just set the temp to 22 C. The “heat” mode does not honestly exist, in spite of what the actual air conditioning. Controls say. Okay. However we didn't appreciate the way whoever answered the telephone handled our Call, with an annoyed tone as though we were morons ruining their perfectly peaceful work shift. I think Maybe there were some other technical problems (for instance a fire alarm went off for like 1 minute one night and there appeared trouble with one of the lifts), so perhaps we were just the last drop for that person… since everything else was so pleasant, I think this was a really small exception to an otherwise all pristine and unwinding vacation.

Always a charming hotel
Does not matter if it is Camino Real, Dreams or Hyatt you can not beat the wonderful remote shore, the close closeness to community, and the marvelous personnel. The new Central block and pools are really remarkable. We really liked the main foyer, exercise centre, and bar. Everything, including the Infinity pools Now faces the sea. A large enhancement over the previous decor. Even though, we do think some of the mexican charm was lost in the change. Much of the personnel was new and clearly coming up the learning curve. However all worked diligently to please the visitors. We like to admit gonzalo, a morning manager at the cafeteria restaurant. My spouse took a fall on the brick walk. He was close by and instantly came to our aid and organize for first aid. He was really accommodating to us throughout the rest of our stay. Gracias! We were let down in the cuisine. The blaze was a large let down. A really pretentious menu; it was difficult to find something that was alluring. I was eager to see that red snapper was on the menu, only to be let down both times it was served. It like a brick of fish instead of a fillet and really rough. At lunch the burger was some kind of mystery meat. Our waiter explained to us the cook ground the meat himself. The mexican restaurant had the same menu problems and cuisine was just alright. The cafeteria and mediterranean restaurants were great. As a whole the restaurants need to be taken up a few notches. Perhaps Hyatt should hire the cook that Dreams had. The suites in the Club Tower are start to illustrate their age. However everything worked and the mattresses were excellent. The balconies are marvelous place to enjoy the view. We always attempt to get a suite on the high floor and the centre of the block. We really enjoyed the adult pool. It would be better if the seat weren't so close to each other that you can not get in and out them. We welcomed Hyatt establishing a no smoking policy event though it was not always followed. As a whole all we had an okay time and hope to return next year.

Missing Dreams, however still pleasant.
I have been to this setting when it was Dreams on four occasions and splurged a tiny this time to check out the reno's and switchover to the Hyatt. As a solo traveler, I'm well aware of the "invisible factor" where personnel do not tend to somebody alone, as much as they would two or more folks. It's something one gets used to, however this setting was absurd. At the breakfast place, I was not seated in spite of waiting at the door. I guess the hostess thought I was meeting folks. So I took a plate and went to locate a seat however was promptly informed not to sit there as two folks arriving after me were the priority. Hmmm. Alright. Hey - third world issues, however still worth mentioning. I tend to leave gratuities constantly and tip well, yet the bar/pool waiters did not appear to recall this until my second last day. Always they would take the orders of everybody around me and then walk away and I would have to stop them. Got a tiny discouraging sometimes, however hey - not a gigantic deal. I love this setting - the beech is amazing. Exclusive and full of seats/towels. The swimming pools are smaller, however stylish and I loved that. The amusement team (gigantic shout out to oscar who does his job so really well and with so little to work with), they try Hard. Tip them! Folks forget to do this and they're working from Sun up to Sun down or more. I loved all of the restaurants, however blaze can not appear to figure out how to cook red snapper. I could have played handball with what they put in front of me. Not edible. Mediterranean was excellent, mexican excellent, oriental excellent. Liked them all. Did not do cafeteria except for brunch. Restricted options, however okay enough. As a whole, I enjoyed my stay however missed the feel of Dreams. The charm of Dreams. And due to my check out experience on my last day, I will be looking to find another Dreams for my next stay. The day before departing, the Sun wing representative informed me to be in the main foyer at 10:30 AM for pick up to the airport. However I agreed to confirm that the day of and the lady at the reception was fully disinterested in assisting me. When I at last found somebody else to help (at the porter desk), I discovered that it was 9:30 AM not 10:30 AM. No, not the hotel's fault - however had I been able to discover 30 minutes prior (as I attempted to do), I would not have had to panic and rush to my suite and skip brunch to catch this taxi. Essentially the impression I got was, you are leaving. Go. I May be incorrect, however that is the impression I got. So two glitches, however enough to make it my last vacation here. But, the facilities are wonderful and if you go as a couple, I am sure you will have a better time.

It's the personnel that makes the difference
You May think it cliche' when personnel welcome you for the first time, they cross their heart to silently say, their service comes from the heart. I honestly believe they mean it as all over you look the personnel take amazing pride in what they do. The hotels pools are wonderful and the oceanfront is georgeous. If you stay in the Club Tower you have an excellent scenery of the pv Bay. The Club Tower, where we stayed, has a porter desk with hors d'oeuvres at night and even more free alcohol. If you do not like something you do not have to pay for it and the pina coladas are free, too. Lol, it's all-inclusive!
Awesome!
Traveled to Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta with my fiance from April 12-16. We visited the Sheraton the evening before arriving to the Hyatt. Do not waste your time at the Sheraton. Anyway, this review is about the Hyatt Ziva! :) We arrived with a smile from the lobby at the main check in setting in the main foyer. She politely walked us with our baggage to the Club Tower where beatriz welcomed us with such energy. This really set the tone for our stay and we were so eager to see what the hotel had to offer! We arrived around 11 AM and our suite technically was not available for check in until 3:30 PM however beatriz expedited this process and we could check into our suite (suite#1856, Club Tower) by 12:30 PM. Meanwhile, we sat near the ocean and wet up some rays while loving a drink and ate lunch. While I'm on cuisine, I will say blaze is the most outstanding restaurant on this Property. As a whole the meals were excellent, however blaze really thrilled us. We ate there for a majority of our breakfasts and lunches. Ezeiquel (I know the spelling is incorrect! ) and vincente were awesome to us and on our last night, we had Jose for our supper service. He was excellent as well! Near the ocean, marco was served us all week. He was so accommodating and really became accustomed with his clients. By the 2nd day, he knew us on a first name basis and our drink options. Certainly portrayed the hotel well! He mostly had a smile on his face! It was pleasant to see some of the personnel rotate between the restaurants. On our last brunch, vincente had honestly come to supply at the cafeteria (which was excellent as well! ) so that was a lovely surprise. Sergio hosted a Tequila tasting at the main TV bar one afternoon and we regularly saw him wandering throughout the resort and always welcomed us with a smile. As for activities on the hotel, there was something going on more or less every hour from 9 AM-10 PM. Whether it be a pedal boat trip, water aerobics, or Live music at the bars, there is something for everybody. We didn't take part in much, however we did go to the Casino night, played blackjack by the swimming pool (won glasses of wine and a shirt! ) and did the Tequila tasting. Gualberto and issac were really helpful when we did take part and were so simple to get along with. The activities aren't so rambunctious that you feel you can not unwind. You are not bombarded into participating and can view from afar if you would like! Our accomodations were in the Club Tower and it was just what we needed! We were up high (18th floor) so our scenes were wonderful. We had a jacuzzi on our patio and the doors to the patio opened all the way up so it was like there was no door there, if you prefer that! (we sure did! ) we particularly enjoyed the Club lounge facilities. Every morning they would put out a light brunch and by 10 AM, there was wine, beer, pop, and Waters. At 5 PM, they had high end top shelf alcoholic drinks, beer, wine, and other assorted treats. It was an awesome place to get a small quick meal in between meals or a drink any time you felt like it! The climate was pristine, except for the last day when a strange rain storm came through. Otherwise, the temps were in the low 80's and water was pristine and sooo clear! I could see little pufferfish and rays from standing waist deep in the water. You can see even more if you take one of the free pedal boats out for a spin! As a whole this hotel was everything we could conceive and more! We look forward to return and see all the familiar faces! Marco, the shore waiter, has been at the hotel for over a decade! He has worked there through 3 hotel changes (10 years as Dreams, 2 years prior to Dreams, and the length of time with Hyatt). Absolutely recommend the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta!
